Learning space
Optimising the design of learning spaces
A good learning environment is made up of various factors: Interactive teaching methods, technical equipment, spatial flexibility and sustainability. Universities must also ensure inclusion and accessibility so that all students have access to equal learning opportunities. This also includes the right infrastructurein the form of library access, learning centres, tutoring services and psychological counselling to support the overall well-being and academic development of students.
Learning spaces can be physical, virtual or hybrid.

Libraries and learning centres
The university library is a central place of learning that offers a quiet environment for intensive study. In addition to an extensive collection of specialised literature, students have numerous workstations at their disposal. Special learning centres within the library also offer spaces for collaborative work and exchange between students.
Specialised laboratory and project rooms
The h_da has set up special laboratory and project rooms for practice-oriented degree programmes. These are equipped with the necessary equipment and technologies to enable students to gain practical experience and work on their own projects. Such specialised learning spaces are particularly important in the natural sciences and technical degree programmes.
Digital offerings
In addition to physical learning spaces, h_da also focusses on digital learning environments. E-learning platforms and virtual classrooms enable students to learn flexibly and from any location. (see also Tools & Technology)
